| Really stunning lithography on this little tin bank. 3" high and roughly 4 1/2" wide oval shape.One side has a scene of children playing with toy soldiers. The other side shows children directing animals onto a Noah's ark they are launching in a pond. Their little dog seems to want to join in the fun. Lanterns hang from the branches above them. The colors are vibrant, the condition is excellent. The rim of the lid (this was most likely a candy tin which was used as a bank when the candy was gone)has the complete alphabet and the top of the lid teaches the importance of saving and also retains the coin slot. The bottom has its closure in place. There is no makers' or product mark. I suspect the tin is English, dating from the teens or the twenties. It is really lovely. | ||||||||
