| Sterling Cake Slice, Petersen, Montreal C.1940 . The hammered slice, corn pattern. Petersen (1895-1977), married Georg Jensen’s daughter and emigrated from Denmark to Montreal in 1929. He was first employed by Henry Birks & Sons as their in-house Silversmith. Founded his own firm in 1944, Petersen's three sons were his first apprentices.From 1947 Petersen & Sons employed 20 Silversmiths. Petersen died in 1977 and closed in 1979. | ||
