This is a vintage Norwegian Sterling Silver & Guilloche Enamel brooch or pin, by Elvic & Co of Oslo, & dating to around the 1950's.

The brooch is oval in form, with a hinged pin & 'C' clasp fastening.

The front of the brooch has a stunning Guilloche enamel & hand painted coastal 'sunset' (or sunrise ?) scene.

The scene has a 'sunburst' pattern which has been finished in blue, through yellow, pink, & dark blue enamels, onto which a coastal scene has been painted, with the Sun at the centre, & Cliffs & seagulls to either side, with the ocean at the base.

The rear of the brooch is marked with '925S' (for Sterling Silver), & the makers mark of an 'E' in a wavy cartouche (for Elvik & Co, of Oslo, Norway).

Condition is Fine for it's 60 years, the only thing to note is that the painted 'Cliff' has around three Tiny spots of rubbing to the L/H edge (hardly noticeable & easily fixed) - Please see highly magnified photos.

The brooch measures approx 1 5/8" long by 7/8" wide (approx 4cm x 2.3cm), & weighs 9.2 g.
