This is a small cased art glass vase, by Mdina (Malta) & with the original paper label, & dating to around the 1970's to 80's.

The vase is tapered in form, with a ground base, a short neck, & a small 'button' rim.

The vase, cased in clear glass, is an aqua blue / greenish colour with random veining / streaking of very pale yellow & orange glass in an abstract pattern, suggesting (to me, anyway !) swirling seaweed in a clear sea.

The base is ground & unsigned, although the vase has the original paper label with the Maltese cross & 'MDINA GLASS over MALTA', which would date the vase to the 1970's / 80's (the plastic labels came into use in the 90's).

Condition is good, with no chips or cracks. The base has expected wear and, if you look at the L/H base of the vase in the 3rd photo, you will see a small, crescent shaped graze. This was almost certainly done during manufacture, probably when the base was being ground & the vase, or the grinders hand, moved.

The vase is approx 4 1/2" or 11.4cm high, & is very heavy for it's size at just over 400g.
