WW2 'Churchill,Roosevelt,Stalin' Matchbox Holder c1944

This is a British made celluloid & tin plate matchbox cover or grip, dating to the end of the World War Two period, around 1944 - 1945.

The front of the holder has three oval 'photographs' of ROOSEVELT, CHURCHILL, & STALIN, with their names printed underneath.

The spine reads "Our Deepest Gratitude and Admiration to the Allies who stood United in Defeating the Greatest Tyrant in History". One edge of the spine reads 'BRITISH MADE' & the other end 'COPYRIGHT'.

The reverse of the holder has a colour pictorial of the three Allies flags of UNITED STATES, GREAT BRITAIN, & RUSSIA.

This holder, with the Allies flags in colour, is by far the most uncommon of the 'Allied Leaders' match box holders.

Condition is absolutely Excellent and is certainly the best example that we have ever handled. The holder is near mint, both to the exterior & interior. The only point to note is that there are some very light & tiny spots of foxing to one corner (underneath Stalin) - Please see magnified photos.

The holder measures approx 2 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 1" (approx 5.7cm x 4cm x 2.5cm.
