This is a pair of 10 1/2" Victorian brass ejector candlesticks in a 'Beehive & Diamond' pattern, almost certainly English in origin (probably produced by James Clew & Sons of Birmingham), & dating to around 1890. The sticks have cut corner rectangular bases, an unusual 'upside down' beehive, and an octagonal 'diamond' pattern knob towards the top of the stem. Both sticks have their original push-up ejection mechanisms (rods & buttons) although these are seized (I have not attempted to free them). Condition of the sticks is very Good. Externally they are Fine with just a few spots of tarnishing, but one stick is loose at the base / stick joint (this is quite common on sticks of this age). Although the stick is secure, a small internal solder would prevent any movement. Each stick is approx 10 1/2" tall (approx 26.7cm), with a base measurement of approx 4 1/4" x 3 3/4" (approx 10.7cm x 9.5cm). Overall, a fine pair of large Victorian candlesticks, in good condition for their 120 years.
