Silver 'William Grant' Whisky Decanter Label: 1985

This is a solid Silver 'William Grant' Whisky decanter or bottle label, by the silversmiths Roberts & Dore, and fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1985.

This label (and the matching 'Glenfiddich' label we have also listed), were almost certainly produced for a special bottling or, perhaps, for the centenary of William Grant's first distillery, the Glenfiddich Distillery in 1886?

The label, which has scalloped edges, has been embossed with the Grant's Highland Soldier logo, with the embossed signature of William Grant underneath.

The label is fully hallmarked with the makers mark 'R & D' (Roberts & Dore), the lion passant (925 Sterling), the anchor (Birmingham), & the date Letter 'L' (1985).

Condition of the label & the attached chain is Fine (the date letter is rubbed, but legible).

The label measures approx 2" x 1 1/4" at widest points (approx 5.1cm x 2.8cm).
