This is an Edwardian 'miniature' type photograph in a little hinged faux leather box / case, by 'u.s.a. Studios' (who I believe were based in London), & dating to the Edwardian era.

The case (which also doubles as a standing frame) is covered in a faux Morocco leather, & hinges open via a sprung push button to reveal the interior. One side of the case is printed with 'u.s.a. Studios' in small, gold block.

The interior is lined in a blue 'silk' to one side, whilst the other side holds the oval photograph, which is framed in a brown velvet.

The photograph is a portrait of a young Edwardian Lady, is oval in form, & it looks to be covered in a celluloid type material (the transparent celluloid? surface is hard & reflective).

Condition of the photograph is Fine.

Condition of the case is only fair. The faux leather covering is faded & worn on the edges, the 'silk' lining is very faded, & the brown velvet is worn in places. Although the case is structurally good with a good catch & hinge, there ia a small split at either end of the spine.

The case measures approx 2 5/8" x 2 1/8" (approx 6.6cm x 5.4cm), whilst the photograph is approx 1 5/8" high & 1 1/4" wide (at widest points), approx 4.2cm x 3cm.
