This is a Georgian Ivory needle case, almost certainly English in origin, & dating to around c.1800. The cylindrical case is reminiscent of a rolling pin in form, & has an extremely fine, turned decoration to the body & 'acorn' finials. The case unscrews around two thirds of the way up, to reveal the compartment for storing needles. Condition is Fine, with no damage & a good screw thread. The case measures approx 3 1/4" or 8.3cm in length. |
