This is a stunning little Irish china bowl, made by Belleek & bearing the second period black mark, & dating to circa 1891 - 1926. The bowl is made from an extremely light weight & translucent china, with an ivory lustre finish. The bowl is formed from three adjoining, embossed scallop shells, with an embossed & hand painted Shamrock design on all three sides. The rim of the bowl is scalloped & it sits on an embossed, pedestal foot. The unglazed base is fully marked with the Belleek 2nd period black mark, which dates the piece to between 1891 and 1926. Condition is absolutely superb, with no chips, cracks, hairlines, or restoration. There is expected, very light wear to the unglazed base. The bowl sits approx 2 1/8" high, with a diameter of approx 3 3/4" at the widest point (approx 5.4cm & 9.5cm). Please have a look at the matching jug we have also listed. |
