Art Deco Guilloche Enamel Cigarette Card Case c.1930's

This is an original Art Deco period cigarette or card case, made of gilt brass? and Guilloche enamel by Healson of England, & dating to around the 1930's.

The case is square in form, with chamfered corners, & has an engine turned design to the rear & a stunning, light green Guilloche enamel panel to the front.

The enamelled panel has two engine turned borders enclosing a symmetrical, Art Deco design to the bottom, from which, radiates a 'sunburst' pattern. The colour can change from a very pale green to a darker green, depending on the angle of light.

The case is opened via a sprung push button & a thumb lift, to reveal a gilt interior with it's original elastic retaining band.

One side of the interior has the makers mark of 'healson' over 'MADE IN ENGLAND'.

Condition is Very Good. The enamel is Fine, with an absolutely tiny area of rubbing to the bottom, R/H corner & the expected, light surface wear. The rear of the case has around 3 pinhead bruises & would benefit from a clean.

The case measures approx 3 1/4" square (approx 8.4cm square).
