This is an original Art Deco period cocktail shaker, made in Silver Plate by the renowned firm of Mappin & Webb, & dating to around the 1930's.

The shaker is tapered in form, with fluted detailing to the top, typical of the Deco period.

There are three parts to the shaker; the main container (which holds 1 Pint), the strainer, & the cap.

The base carries the makers mark of 'Mappin & Webb Ltd - MAPPIN PLATE - LONDON & SHEFFIELD'. There is also a shield containing 'A', 'W 28554', 'R.249', & the capacity mark of '1.PINT'.

The exterior has absolutely no plate loss, just some expected, very light surface marks, & one tiny, single spot of tarnish at the bottom. The base has expected, light wear.

The interior of the cap & strainer are immaculate, the interior of the main container shows some light wear.

Condition is Fine, with a very small & shallow bruise to the top of the cap (felt, rather than seen), & a few very light bruises to the interior strainer lip - fantastic for it's 80 odd years.

The strainer measures approx 9" tall (approx 22.8cm), & holds 1 pint.
