Victorian Mauchline Wheel Pin Cushion KILLIECRANKIE

This is a Victorian, Scottish Mauchline Ware 'wheel' pin cushion in the Transfer Ware finish, featuring the 'PASS OF KILLIECRANKIE - QUEENS VIEW', and dating to around 1880.

The pin cushion is circular in form, with a green velvet cushion sandwiched between the sides, which made from copal varnished sycamore.

One side of the cushion is decorated with a transfer scene of 'PASS OF KILLIEKRANKIE - QUEENS VIEW'. The opposite side is plain.

The Queens View (generally believed to be named after Queen Victoria who took tea there in 1866, the viewpoint actually commemorates Queen Isabella, wife of Robert the Bruce who ruled Scotland between 1306 and 1329) is in Perthshire, Scotland.

Condition is Fine, with no damage or wear to the transfer & minimal wear to the velvet.

The cushion measures approx 1 5/8" in diameter (approx 4.3cm).
