1902 Rowntree King Edward VII Alexandra Coronation Tin

This is an original Rowntree & Co confectionery tin, specially made for the coronation of King Edward VII & Alexandra (Queen Consort), & dating to 1902.

The tin is rectangular in form, with a hinged lid, & is very thin (to accommodate a thin bar of chocolate?).

The front of the tin is lithographed with oval portraits of King Edward VII & Alexandra, their respective ciphers, the coronation crown, & two banners reading 'CORONATION DAY' & 'JUNE 26th 1902'.

The rear of the tin is finished in a gold colour & reads 'ROWNTREE & CO LTD - YORK'.

Condition is good for it's 107 years. The colours are still bright with very little loss, & there is the expected, but light, wear to the base & edges - please see magnified photos.

The tin measures approx 5" x 2 1/4" (approx 12.5cm x 5.5cm).
