This is one of 4 Royal Christmas cards signed by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (3 'auto-penned' & 1 hand signed) that we have recently acquired.

This card is an original 1980 Royal Family Christmas card, with the 'auto pen' signature of HRH Prince Philip, and complete with it's original franked postal envelope.

The envelope is addressed to an Edinburgh based Association (of which Prince Philip is/was a Patron), sent by registered Mail from London & franked 4 times with the Buckingham Palace franking stamp dated 18th December 1980, & with the stamped HRH Queen Elizabeth II Cipher to the bottom L/H corner.

The card is a rectangular, bi-fold card in a light blue heavy card, with the Gilt Royal Ciphers of Queen Elizabeth & Prince Philip to the front.

The inside Left is printed with 'With best wishes for Christmas and the New Year' & has the auto-penned in ink signature 'Philip' underneath.

The inside Right has a colour group photograph of (rear) Viscount Linley, Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones, Prince Andrew, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Prince Edward, Captain Mark Philips, & (front) Princess Margaret, Queen Elizabeth II, The Queen Mother, & Princess Anne.

Condition of the card is Fine, with no marks or creases. Condition of the envelope is Good, with expected wear.
