This is a large trinket or jewellery box, made of wood with a Silver top, & fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1990.

The box is made from a lightweight, scented, & polished wood (possibly Cedar?), & is oval in form with a fitted, wooden lid.

The top of the lid is fitted with a solid Silver panel which has a repousse decoration depicting a rustic, countryside scene of a horse drawn cart carrying a couple, with a man & a dog standing beside it.

The lid is fully hallmarked with the makers mark 'RH', the anchor (Birmingham), the lion passant (925 Sterling), & the date letter 'Q' (1990).

The interior of the box is unlined & the base has a velvet covering.

Condition is Good. The rim of the lid has a couple of tiny bruises, & the wooden body has a couple of tiny spots of rubbing.

The box measures (at widest points) approx 5 1/8" long, 3 1/8" wide, & 1 7/8" tall (approx 13cm, 8cm, & 4.7cm).
