| Outstanding sterling silver Pitcher by the Master silversmith Don Juventino Lopez Reyes. Hand hammered with his characteristics simple and most elegant design. This sterling water pitcher measures 10½ tall by 5“ in diameter at the widest by 7” across the handle. Weighs approximately 24 ounces. --- Stamped initials “JLR” and 0.925 sterling on bottom. Juventino Lopes Reyes was the former silversmith to Maciel and he opened his own shop “Plateria del Recreo” in 1935. His unique pure style is clearly untouched by the influence of Taxco. Don Juventino actually precedes Spratling and the Taxco silver movement. Masterfully designed and executed has no chips, cracks or scratches. The piece is pre-eagle (before 1948). The more modern Yaxitlan pitcher from Tane was likely inspired by this classic piece of Don Juventino. COLLECTOR QUALITY | |||||||
