SIGI PINEDA Early Sterling and Obsidian NECKLACE
This necklace is one of the earliest produced by Sigi. The eagle mark corresponds to the first one used in the late 1940s. The necklace already has the characteristics of the modern forms he has used throughout his designs. However, it is also visible in the necklace the influence of his work at the Spratling workshop. 55g (1.9 oz); 41 cm (16 & 1/4") in length . The drops on the front are inlaid with obsidian. The largest drop links are 4 cm (1 & 3/5") long and 1.2 cm (1/2") wide; the smallest links are 2 cm (4/5") long and 0.7 cm (1/4") wide. This piece is elegant and in excellent condition. The clasp appears as the original but it could have been replaced. COLLECTOR QUALITY
