wood-block print art hagi iga bizen shino oribe The policy of MAGOKORODO.
We sell only the quality works which artists enjoyed and were made.
I visit a studio directly, and confirm every piece of a work directly by myself, and also receive the explanation about works from artists.
For example, a peculiar atmosphere which the pottery calcinated with a traditional hole kiln and climbing kiln has differs from the work calcinated by gas kiln or electric kiln.
And there are very few painters who draw a Japanese painting by the technique transmitted from old times.
About an AYAKI's Japanese painting, even materials, such as a brush, "GANRYO" (natural mineral pigments), NIKAWA (glue), are difficult to receive.
Similarly the wood-block print which Mr. YUASA makes is rare.
By the wood-block print artist who is working in Kyoto now, a white Kurogi print artist has only two persons including him.
We can send additional informations, such as a ceramic art history which was not able to write to the explanatory note, to the customer who considers purchase.
When you have a question etc, please do not hesitate to send e-mail to us before purchase.
Enjoy the MAGOKORODO!
