There is very little accurate information about Pema Raka beads. As they have become more and more popular the stories about them have multiplied, but most of the information is fanciful at best. Presumably they were made in India, but the irregularities in form and the perforations are very different from the carnelian beads that were made for the South Asian or even the African markets.
