The piece has a mark that is unknown to me, with two capital K letters (the right one reversed), a small cloverleaf at the top and a small crown at the bottom, both between the KK. This extremely rare 10.75" plate was thrown on a potter's wheel and hand-decorated by Lawrence Blazey in 1934. Blazey studied pottery seriously for the first time only after Cowan Pottery closed in 1931, after which time Russell Barnett Aitken and Harold Hunsicker inherited Cowan's wheel and set up shop as the Pottery Workshop (a few years later).
