|This outstanding 10" rolled-edge plate was made as a souvenir of Zanesville, an American art pottery center in rural Ohio, home of Roseville, Weller, Owens, Peters and Reed, Zane, Gonder, and many other highly collectible makers--from the Arts and Crafts movement through the 1950s. The cobalt blue and white plate (flow blue coloring) depicts the "new" Zanesville Y bridge at the center, below a vignette of the former "old" Y bridge. That should help date the piece, which was made in Staffordshire, England, by the Rowland and Marcellus Company, for sale by C. C. Aler Co. of Zanesville. No chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. There is some brownish stain and a teensy spot that catches on your nail (on the back rim). Excellent condition overall!|
