This large handled bowl is shaped like a banana leaf, designed by Vienna-born Vally Wieselthier, best known for her ceramic sculpture with the Wiener Werkstatte. Size is 6" t. x 13.5" x 6"

For the New York City firm General Ceramics, VW designed a series of high-fired porcelain works, each of which is marked with an inkstamp logo of a vase, with her initials on either side. Glaze is a glossy mottled cobalt blue with lavender highlights.

Perfect addition to a collection of Art Deco, Modern, Industrial Design era American art pottery. No chips, cracks, or repairs.
