This 10-1/8" d. dinner plate is an example of the 1955 dinnerware shape Free Form, designed by internationally famous artist Viktor Schreckengost for Salem China Company. The decoration used on this example is called South Wind, and is also a Viktor design. The motif is bright red, mustard yellow, turquoise blue, and black on a speckled eggshell background. Very handsome. No nicks, chips, hairlines, or repairs. Would be a nice decorative accent for a collection of Mid-Century Modern Design. |
