Salem China 1950s Sugar Bowl & Creamer Schreckengost
This 3.5" t. covered sugar bowl and creamer were designed by internationally famous Cleveland artist Viktor Schreckengost and made by Salem China Co. The shape is Ranch (introduced in 1951), and the pattern is Primrose.

According to Henry Adams, author of the Cleveland Museum of Art catalog for Viktor's 2000 retrospective exhibition VIKTOR SCHRECKENGOST AND 20TH-CENTURY DESIGN, Ranch returns to a purely modern globular form, comparable to that used in the 1930s American Limoges shape Manhattan (see page 113).

Very good condition for these wares. No nicks, chips, hairlines, or repairs.
