This rare pair of 5.75" t. candlesticks was made by the Sebring Pottery (in Alliance, Ohio) in about 1929-1930, contemporary with Roseville's Futura, Muncie's Ruba Rombic, and Weller's Lorbeek. The jazzy skyscraper angularity of those lines lasted only 1 season, until the stock market crash made consumers aim for long-term livability in their purchases, not novelty. No mark, but guaranteed to be original and authentic Leigh Art Ware. One candlestick has a small flat chip underneath the edge. Otherwise, there are no nicks, chips, hairlines, or repairs. |
