Shotai Shippo (Plique a' Jour) Bowl
Known More Commonly By The French Name Plique A Jour, Shotai Shippo Is A Type Of Cloisonne In Which Vitreous Transparent Enamels Were Fired, Then Acid Was Used To Etch Away The Exterior Body Of The Vessel Resulting In The Transparent Stained Glass Appearance Of This Bowl. Circa 1950.
