| Framed, hand colored engraving of two cocks in a ring squaring off. It is Plate No.1-A START. It is a proof. Drawn and engraved by C.R.Stock, London Published by W.C.Lee. The plate contains the quote (unattributed), "Gittering in Golden Coats, like Images, as full of Spirit as the Month of May". It is framed in an unassuming black frame with no matting. Very artfully rendered and the hand coloring is quite attractive and gives full attention to the subject while muting the background appropriately. There is foxing in the margins.
