| This is one of two engravings (see previous listing) of gaming cocks. This engraving is Plate No.3-Business. Drawn and engraved by C.R.Stock, London Published by W.C.Lee. This is a proof. This one contains the unattributed quote, "Fortune makes quick despatch, and in a day may strip you bare as beggary itself". Hmmm. How true. The gaming cocks are engaged with one another in this plate and one can see in the background the coat and hat of a gentleman on one side and a beer bottle on the other. Interesting print and subject. There is light foxing in the margins, framed in a simple black frame. The size is 13.5" by 11.5" framed. Both pieces seem to have old glass in the frames. | ||
