| We love this vibrant modernist painting by American artist, Zale Stratmeyer. Depicted here is a church on a city street, in modernist or expressionist style, in a vivid palate of bold strokes. The old painted frame appears to be original to the painting and has many layers of paint, now crackled to reveal earlier colors. I could not find much on the artist, other than a reference to an auction some few years ago. The piece was small and quite unlike this painting, and it didn't sell. This painting is quite wonderful, and I'm basing the asking price strictly on what I paid for it, since there is nothing else to go on. The size is 24" by 28", as framed, in a 2" frame (measurements approx.). | |||||||
