| These little paintings are really quite nice. They represent family crests, or coats of arms, and are perhaps examples since no names appear on the paintings. They are each well painted and depict a shield with a crown. The designs are quite similar except that one has 3 dogs on one side where the other has bands. The frames are quite early, probably 1850 give or take, and they, together or singly, have quite a nice look. The frames have a little damage at the corners, which is not bad, and one frame has a little bit of gilding missing on the side. I have no idea whether the paintings are original to the frames or not. The outside dimensions of the frames are approximately 6.75" by 5". The interior dimensions are 3.75" by 2" approximately.
