| Offered here is a perfectly charming small chair to use by a ladies desk or vanity. It is inlaid with mother of pearl and freehand gilt vines and leaves across the entire back of the chair. Stenciled gilt designs decorate the front of the legs. The cushion is of a wonderful tufted green silk fabric, and is attached. Most of the mother of pearl is there, some of the gilding is slightly worn and there are a few old worm holes in the wood. The silk is strong and clean, although I found 2 very small, slightly lighter spots (the size of a nail head)in the fabric. There is some slight movement in the chair, but not enough that it needs to be reglued yet. Delicate looking, and very feminine. Late 19th century. This can be popped into a box and sent UPS very easily and inexpensively. | ||||||
