| Offered here is a fine pair of 19th century opaline vases with gilt enamel decoration in a foliage and bee motif. The vases are seated on a marble base with gilt metal ram head mounts. The enameling has some wear where they were handled over the years, but it isn't much, and is not objectionable. The "back" side of the vases had the same motif at one time but it is absent except for the faintest outline, and doesn't even show in the picture. The marble bases have wear around the edges. These measure 9" at the highest point and the bases are 5.25"x 2.5". | |||||||
