| Offered here is a fine hand colored engraving titled ABERDEEN, published in London in 1840. There is a lot of activity in the picture. You can see that Aberdeen was already industrialized by that point with smokestacks and shipping lanes and small ships in the harbor. In the foreground, young boys and their dog watch and gesture, while cattle graze on the hillside. The print is floated on a green mat. The title and publishing information is taped to the back, and a retailer left a sticker affixed to the back: James Papalia Clifton, New Jersey. The image is 7.5" by 4.5", the frame is 14.5" by 10.5" approximately. | ||
