19th Century Bamboo Arm Chair
This is a fabulous late Victorian all bamboo arm chair with the root knobs at the top and at the end of the arm rests, and wooden knobs as feet. There is a loose cushion in a gorgeous yellow contemporary fabric, and an antique Chinese embroidered rank badge on the back of the chair. The chair is comfortable, well made and is sturdy, with "give" that is only natural to bamboo and not due to loose joints. It is a stunning chair and, if it looks familiar to you, it is because I had it several years ago, and it is now part of the estate of the person I sold it to. The chair measures 19" across at the seat, 21" deep, and the back is 36" in the center.
