| Offered here is a very fine Italian leather jewelry box with abundant rich embossed detail on the top, sides and interior of the box. The interior is lined with velvet and is compartmented for different types of jewelry. There are slots for earrings, and a place for rings. The box was very hard to photograph for some reason. The color is much browner than it appears in the pictures, which have a definite red tone to them. The tooling is done in black and the velvet is what I would call a loden green. The work is exquisite and the leather is gorgeous. The little key is original and the lock works. The box measures approximately 9.75" by 7.25" by 2.25". If measured to the top of the box, it would be a little higher because the top is slightly raised. It is in lovely condition, showing only the slightest wear from use. 1940-ish. | |||||||||
