YIXING ZISHA TEAPOT OF TREE TRUNK FORM. A nicely crafted piece from the first part of the 20th Century. The enameled spout and handles are formed as gnarled branches. A grapevine is entwined around the pot and there are more grapes on the lid. Also on the lid is a squirrel whilst another can be seen emerging from a hole on the trunk There is a I’Hsing seal mark to the base and potter’s mark inside the lid. You will see from the pictures that this pot has been well used over the years. Remarkably it is in good condition with just some small chips inside the lid and to the enamel decoration.. The height to the top of the lid is 4.25 inches (11 cms). |
