A VERY ATTRACTIVE AND LARGE JAPANESE CLOISONNE VASE FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE SHOWA PERIOD (1926 – 1989). Although unmarked I believe that it would have come from the famous workshop of Ando Jubei. On a pale yellow ground gold (or gilded) and silver cloisons (wires) have been used to depict plum and chrysanthemum blossoms and a single orchid. This beautiful piece is 9.5 inch (24cm) tall and in excellent condition. |
