LARGE JAPANESE CLOISONNE PEONY VASE
A large, beautiful mid green Japanese cloisonné baluster vase from the Showa period. Although unmarked this 9.75inch (25 cm) vase is very likely to be from the famous workshops founded by Ando Jubei in 1880 or 1881. Well executed in silver wire, the peony flower and bud graduate from white through lemon yellow to pale green. Condition appears to be great with just one tiny pin-prick of a firing fault in the background enamel. An eye-catching piece for a cloisonné or oriental collection. |
