This is a fine Satsuma sucrier, signed by the painter. It would have been made in the early part of the 20th century, ie. Late Meiji or Taisho period.
The various flowers are skillfully painted and enamelled and profusely highlighted with gilding. All the handles are heavily gilded with a beautiful matt finish. It is in very good condition with just a small insignificant chip inside the lid. The height is 3.5 inches (9 cms). |
