THIS IS A NICELY CARVED OKIMONO of JAPANESE FARMER SIGNED BY THE ARTIST.
It is of sectional form and depicts a farmer with gourds and other acoutrements. It is 5.25 inches (13 cms) tall and carries signature (not translated)on the base in red lacquer inset placque. Dating from the Meiji period circa 1900 it is in good condition with just a couple of minor age cracks. It stands on carved wooden base that has an old paper label attached. |
