This Japanese cloisonné vase dates to the late 19th century, during the Meiji period.
This was the ‘Golden Age’ of Japanese cloisonné manufacture. On a wireless turquoise ground peonies and harebells have been depicted. As well as the expected firing pits there are some stress lines and a small chip next to one of the peony buds. These are minor faults and the vase still displays well as can be seen in the images. |
