THIS IS A SUPER JAPANESE MEIJI CLOISONNE CABINET VASE FROM THE MEIJI PERIOD, CIRCA 1900.
Only 3.5 inches (9cms) tall the background is an attractive dark green translucent enamel carrying a multitude of goldstone highlights. The masterly silver wired painting shows a pair of doves on a branch entwined by a climbing vine and bearing persimmon fruit. There are two tiny flecks of discolouration (probably from the time of production) but no damage or restoration. Please view the images to appreciate the quality of the vase.
