Presented here is a Japanese brass trinket or snuff box with applied cast floral mounts to the lid.
This beautiful little box has fan shaped engravings on the lid together with foliage, with foliage variations engraved on each of the sides. The decoration is completed by the application to the lid of three skillfully crafted and cast brass mounts in the form of peonies and chrysanthemums. The box is 3.5 inches long and 1.75 inches wide and in good condition with just a few minor knocks commensurate with its age.
