THIS JAPANESE CLOISONNE BOTTLE SHAPED VASE IS FROM THE GOLDEN AGE OF JAPANESE ENAMELLING.
Produced Circa 1890 during the MEIJI period 1868 - 1912. It is a good example of the style developed in Kyoto the vase shows bands of floral and butterfly decoration above 6 cartouches containing stylised dragons and phoenix. The three dragon panels have mica flecks in the dark green enamel that sparkle as they catch the light. The main background is a dark blue. 7 inches (17.5 cms) tall the vase is in excellent condition with just a couple of small scuff marks on the blue enamel towards the base.
