This wonderful pottery with polychrome decorations dates from the Chinese Han dynasty (206 BC-220 AD), one of China’s golden ages. It is a Hu type vessel traditionally used as water or wine container.

The jar is in rather good shape. It bears a few scratches and a minute hole on the side (see picture 3)...

A splendid Ding type bowl dating from the Northern Song dynasty (960-1127), beautifully carved in lotus sprays.

The attractive vessel is veiled in a finely crackled white glaze with traces of bluish undertones, that form an imaginary bridge to the celadon wares of the same era.

As can be seen on pictures 7 and 8, a few innocent hairlines are visible inside the bowl, which does not leak. It will be shipped in a fitted wooden box...
