This really beautiful Persian jar dates from around the 12th~13th century AD. A Japanese specialist named Ichikawa Kiyoshi certified it as being from the Rayy (Rey) or Kashan area of Persia (modern Iran); a center for the production of high quality potteries at that time.
The jar comes from a private Japanese collector. It was pieced back together by a professional and shows several hairlines, which have been attenuated on the outside...
