This enchanting hanaire (vase) is a Kato Shuntei III production. It was made at his kiln Shuntei-gama (Shuntei kiln) in the city of Seto in central Japan. It is made in the Ki-seto (yellow seto) style. Seto pottery has a more than 400-year-old history. It was born in the ancient province of Mino (current Aichi prefecture) and is part of a rich tradition of many styles among which are oribe and shino also.
