Roman Glass, Syrian Unguentarium, 2~3 c. AD

A greenish unguentarium with gold and silver iridescence, probably made in Roman Syria in the 2nd to 3rd century AD. There is a visible inside crack around the neck (see picture 2), otherwise in very good condition.

From the private collection of a Japanese gentleman.
The vessel will be shipped in a paulownia wood box, made to fit the artifact, as it is often customary in Japan for valuable objets.

Please inquire if you have some questions. More pictures available on request.

Dimensions: 5.9 x 3.1 (mouth) x 17 cm (2.36 x 1.24 x 6.8 in); 46g (1.61 oz)
