Iron Age Cypriot Stemmed Cup

Inventory being renewed - Please submit your Best Offer

This fairly well preserved stemmed cup is a Cypriot artifact from the early Iron Age, about 1000 years BC. It presents the typical grey decorations of lines and concentric circles. There are a few chips where embedded stones have made the clay weaker and the surface shows some wear on one side (see pictures) and around the mouth, otherwise in good condition.

From the private collection of a Japanese gentleman.
The vessel will be shipped in a paulownia wood box, made to fit the artifact, as it is often customary in Japan for valuable objets.
The box is signed by Ichikawa Kiyoshi, a Japanese specialist of old world antiques, as an attestation of the artifact's authenticity.

Please inquire if you have some questions. More pictures available on request.

Dimensions: 10 x 6.8 cm (4 x 2.72 in); 96g (3.36 oz)
